We're Going To Capitol Hill

The TQSF has strategically partnered with the Youth Sports Safety Alliance and we will take the message about sports safety to Capitol Hill during the 5th National Youth Sports Safety Summit. The Summit will be held on Monday-Tuesday, March 10-11, 2014 at the Westin City Center, Washington, DC. The conference will be held on Monday and on Tuesday attendees will take the message about sports safety to Capitol Hill. This annual conference is proving to be very critical to keeping the public’s attention focused on ALL sports injuries, especially catastrophic and fatal events. Attendance will help educate policymakers and the public about sudden cardiac arrest, exertional heat illness and sickling, cervical spine and organ injuries, as well as concussion. We will continue to promote the National Action Plan for Sports Safety and the Student Athletes’ Bill of Rights.

The Alliance has held four national Summits on Youth Sports Safety. Beginning in January 2010, member organizations, legislators, legislative staff and the media have come together to learn about latest trends, and to network and commit to further action. 2014 Summit
